Just upgraded a site from enigma rc 2 and have a problem that Portal Controls and Module Controls block does not show when logged in as admin.

Just noticed that I get this error at the bottom of the page:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: dsp() in /home/httpd/vhosts/www.thewinecellarbook.com/web/enigma/Sources/Load.php(1726) : eval()'d code on line 405

Anyone can give me some tips what might have gone wrong.

I see this is my mistake, when I started the forum I had a problem in one of the source files, it looked as if it had only partially been transfered.  So, I uploaded the whole sources folder again and overwrote some of the modes your script did to it.

I am in the process of uploaded the sources etc folder from my test server (without settings, downloads etc), so hopefully this will get be back to normal.

Yep, that would do it.

If you have to remod the files, you can open the package file and follow along and mod the files yourself.

I am up again.  Moved files from my test server over (except settings).

Seems to have done the trick.

Please scroll up, find the errors, and make note of what and where they were.
Next, open the DSP_install.php file in a text editor and look for the line
that corresponds with the error step given. Then see if you can correct it
via PhpMyAdmin.

It is highly recommended that you save a copy of this page for future reference.
You can do so by choosing "file", then "save as" from your browsers menu.
If you can not, or lack the capability to correct this error, then please
check the forums for more information
and post your problem if it has not been covered already.

Once you have verified and fixed the error, View your new Sphinx 1.1(RC) Installation!

Please Note: With the default theme directory changes made during this installation, your web browser will have most likely cached all the images used for the SMF theme. When you click the link above to go to your site, you may get a mixed theme display. Click the refresh button in your web browser to fix the display. If by chance, that does not work, you may need to clear your browser cache.
Your users may have the same problem IF you were running SMF prior to installing Sphinx. If a simple refresh does not fix the problem for them, please advise them to clear the cache in their web browser.

now when i try and go into "Portal Features and Options" i get this error :

Fatal error: Call to undefined function e2_versionCheck() in c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\modules\ModuleSettings\Settings_Uploads.php on line 9

Can anyone please help me out. I thank you for your time.

We're still fine tuning the updated version of Chris' upload module. Between his schedule and mine, we're fighting to stay on top of the core at the moment (although we're handling it quite nicely, so no worries), but as for additional add-on's, modules, bridges and such those take a lower priority to the main core. If that makes sense.

We're hoping it will only be another week or two before we can get the uploads module back into the lineup, but an older copy of it should work ok, with a few minor modifications.

For example, the e2_versionCheck is now dsp_versionCheck, etc, as we've re-branded to Sphinx, and Dynamic Systems Portal.

Your error was:
Quote
Fatal error: Call to undefined function e2_versionCheck() in c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\modules\ModuleSettings\Settings_Uploads.php on line 9

In that file, find the call to e2_versionCheck and replace it with dsp_versionCheck.

None off the top of my head at the moment.

I'm out of the office, and will be for the next few days. So it will be a bit before I can dig into it.

Ah....  something of the top of my head.

At the very top of all files for that module, look for

if !defined LSP

Change LSP to DSP, and you should move along.

Double check that against the top of a file from PortalSources, and you'll see what I mean.

I notice that when i upload an avatar it appears quite large with a scroll bar, how can i get this so that users who upload an avatar it will auto resize? I tried most of the resize settings but no luck.

What am i doing wrong? This issue is more of a priority to me right now.

Thank You for your time Luke.

Your error was:

Same thing with that new error, as above. replace the call to the e2_versionCheck with dsp_versionCheck.

With avatars, that's an SMF setting, and you can specify certain maximum dimensions and such for avatars, and what to do with them.

I specify the setting for the avatar but see no difference. and i see it as 'DYNSCS' rather than DSP. Which is correct? After i do that now when i try and upload a file i get this :

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ')' at line 5
File: c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\modules\Mod_Uploads.php
Line: 539

Note: It appears that your database may require an upgrade. Your forum's files are currently at version SMF 1.1.3, while your database is at version 1.1.2. The above error might possibly go away if you execute the latest version of upgrade.php.

Now what can it be? my php version is 5.1.2 and Mysql 4.1.7 and this is whats on lin 539 :

Quote
'" . (!empty($file['auemail']) ? $file['auemail'] : '') . "','" . (!empty($file['weburl']) ? $file['weburl'] : '') . "','" . (!empty($file['webtitle']) ? $file['webtitle'] : '') . "',$file[time])", __FILE__, __LINE__);

Thank You

You should have used DSP_versionCheck in the uploads module not DYNSCS.
For the Admin part it sounds like your adsense code is causing a conflict with the block. Goto your default theme folder then goto your portal folder then goto blocks folder so that is default/portal/blocks  and locate the file blocks.template.php and rename it to blocks.template.php .old then cruise to your forums admin area hopefully it should now be visible. Then delete the adsense block. then go back to your server file and rename the blocks.template.php .old file back to blocks.template.php and save.You should be back to normal. If that doesn't work try this. Find the blocks.template.php file open it in a text editor and temporary delete the corresponding block that the adsense was generated so for example if you had set it to view as a right block you would remove this code.
Code:
function template_Blocks_Right($block)
{
global $settings;

echo '
<div style="width: 160px;" align="right">
<div class="blockheadright"><b>', $block['name'], '</b></div>
<div class="blockcontentright" style="text-align: left;">', blockContents($block), '</div>
</div>
';

}

save the file reupload it to your server via ftp and overwrite the blocks file. Now log in admin area and see if that worked to get to admin area if so delete the adsense block and then go back to the php file and put the code back in resave and reupload it back to the server. Let me know if that worked for you.

I fixed the block error, now when i try to upload a file i get this error :

As I previously mentioned, with only 2 developers we really have to focus on the core first and foremost.

I'll take a look into what Chris has set up for his updated version, and see if I can get at least a test release of that out in the next few days.

Hi Luke and thank you for responding. Im sorry for causing you so much of a headache. I just thought that with your expertise advise since you know way more than i do, that you might be able to tell me what is going on with the upload module. It's for a game website and i have no way other than this module to upload files to the server, unless i give everyone admin powers to do so which will be a bad idea.

But i can understand and i dont want to keep bothering you. I thank You for your time.

Nah, you're not a bother. Nothing like a little discussion about a great portal. Wink

I just wanted to let you know that I (or Chris) will look at it, but as we're ramping up for a core release, it might be a little bit on it.

We really need to get someone on board that can just work with mods and such, so that that side can keep up with the core side.

But, we do the best we can with what we have. Smiley

We are in discussions with another developer that's interested in helping out on occasion, but that's more to gear up for SMF 2.0 and all the goodness that it will bring, as well as the rewrite of the current codebase that we have in the works.

If I can squeeze this in later this evening, I'll see what I can do. It's been on our list for a while, and it's the last mod that Chris or I have written that we needed to get converted.

From there, once the core settles down, we're going to look at other possible integrations as well. Plus, once our rewrite becomes available (looking like next spring sometime), the ability to integrate with all kinds of other systems will become much, much easier.

As a note to all of that, just so you know, we've taken a more cautious approach to development this go around. Instead of rushing to make a release every month or every few weeks, we've been more of the wait and see, then fix it all approach. So you may only see updates a few times a year, but their stability will not be a question. Of course if there is something that needs immediate attention, then we'll naturally address that and ship it out as quickly as possible.

Chris' uploads module is going through the final testing and clean-up phase. It's anticipated it will be made available soon.

Cool... Hey ive been meaning to ask, i want to add a module well first i would need to learn how!! Lol. well maybe you know of a module that i can have designated members write game reviews, with pictures ect. kind of like on gamespot. know of any or how i can go about doing something like that?

Sorry one last question, I installed coppermine last night along with the sphinx bridge. My only dilemma is that i cant get the albums folder to work from a different drive. I tried making a virtual directory, but nothing. i have the main wwwroot on c: but the drive with 200GB is on f: and considering the amount of images/videos that can be uploaded i wanted everything located on f: drive. I know coopermine states that you cant use an absolute path because it wont work, but is there any other way this can be done or maybe a different the path can be written, maybe something i havent thought of?

Im using iis on windows 2003 server. So far Virtual directory will not work tried it all kinds of ways and nothing.

Thank you again.

Let me address these separately.

1) We could look into a "review" type module, unless you're handy with PHP and would like to play with it. If you are, you can use the uploads module as a good guideline for putting together a module. We've also outlined the basic picture of a module in the Modules.txt file located in the modules directory within the main Sphinx package you downloaded.

For "us" to work on specific modules, we will, but please note that our primary focus is on the core, and such releases coded by Chris or myself may be slow to fruition.

2) Is this same problem present within Coppermine itself, without being bridged? If so, you may be able to find someone that had the same problem on their forums.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a Coppermine "expert", but we do have one floating around here somewhere.

If it were me, I'd check out WAMP instead of IIS. You'll thank yourself in the long run, and especially when we roll out our brand new portal sometime next year. Wink

Well, "technically" if it were me I'd:

1) If it were a local machine, I wouldn't worry about it because it would be a Mac. Wink

2) If it were a server...

a) it would be a Mac, and also have no worries
b) it would be running linux, and also have no worries.

Cheesy

Lol, I have a few linux machines myself but found it alittle to much on the Apache side for me. I mean ive had iis for quite some time now never gave me any problems, along with a dual- duo core setup 4gb ram hot swap drvs ect.,

So i see your a mac guy ! What mac do you have? I have an alienware sli pretty much with all the bells and whistle's.

As for checking on coopermines website, i checked but the ppl who had the same issue were left without answer's. Sad
