Earlier today, we made available the Beta of Sphinx 1.1 for testing. It's quite stable, but as always... make back-ups!

As you may have already read, we've changed out testing procedures in terms of the availability of releases. Previously, these releases would have been available internally or by invite only. We now are extending the invite to anyone that wants to test these releases, and has donated to the project by upgrading to our Premium Membership.

So now you can decide if you would like to be on the cutting edge, and test out all the great new things coming your way. In addition to early test releases, Premium Members also enjoy additional support options, and the ability to interact with 1 on 1 with the development team. They also can add input early on in the development phase, and help shape the future of the software.

Not a Premium Member yet? Why not join today and help a good cause, as well as enjoy a few "thank you" gifts for your appreciated donation? Wink

I'll take the liberty of emphasizing what Luke has said about Premium membership since we've had some inquiries about how to download Sphinx 1.1.

While it's in the testing phase (Beta releases), Sphinx 1.1 will only be available to Premium Members (those users who have so kindly donated to Dynamic Systems).
Once v1.1 progresses to Release Candidate (RC) status, it will be made available to everyone.  Our new procedures will help us create a more stable product by the time it's available to ALL of our users, by allowing more people to use and test the product ahead of time, compared to the closed testing we have done in the past.

What's new with Sphinx 1.1?  Sphinx v1.1 is what portal users have been waiting for....  A very user friendly, easy to configure and feature rich portal/cms software package which NOW installs on top of SMF v1.1.x.

Testing is progressing nicely.  At present, we have not determined the date for the first RC version.  If you're over anxious to try it out, please check out our Premium Membership information.

All I can say is that the price of a Premium Membership is money well spent.  I was able to upgrade my site to SMF 1.1.2 while retaining all the features and functionallity to which I had been accustomed using Sphinx 1.1.

Before the upgrade, the site was encountering a staggering number of internal server errors each day, and my users were at their wit's end.

I'm definitely satisfied!

Glad to hear it there Talisman!  We have a few premium members now that are helping us test Sphinx v1.1.   Everything is progressing very nicely.

For the record for you all, there is an issue with image menu's in the 1.1 pack available. It has been fixed since, so will make it into the next release.

Depending on the bugs found, and zarsky99's picked through it pretty good (as usual Cheesy), the next available release of it may be the RC. Stability dictating, of course.
