Does the name Bad Behavior ring a bell with anyone?

I'll bet it does with the bloggers out there. If not, where's your head? Wink
This is an anti-spam option, for the record.

Here's the problem with spam bots.

Captcha's work, usually, but those dirty spam bots are still eating up your bandwidth. So if a spam bot hits your site 1000 times before giving up, how much bandwidth did it just eat up and waste.

Bad Behavior is one of the leading anti-spam solutions in the blogging world, and has enjoyed great success. We're pleased to be able to offer the same cleansing feeling for your Sphinx portal and forums.

Not familiar with what Bad Behavior is or does?
Check out the Bad Behavior Website for more info.

This Add-on for Sphinx is now available in our downloads area.

I installed this today and was locked out of my site. As it turns out, the author of Bad Behavior inadvertently made a change that caused this.
After installing this mod, and BEFORE leaving the site or logging out, download the new version of Bad Behavior (currently 2.0.13), unzip it, and copy the contents of the bad behavior/bad behavior folder (nested) to <your site>/portalsources/bad-behavior. This immediately fixed my issue. Here is a link to the article on the bad behavior site:

Other than this minor glitch, I am thrilled with the entire Sphinx CMS. I started testing earlier today, and hope to be in production by the end of the week.

Thanks!

Wow, Ken. In all honesty, I hadn't thought about this mod much. I'll add it to my to-do list to get it updated in the package.

Thanks for the heads up though. You'd think something in my brain would have spiked up a red flag with all the wordpress work I do.

I'm pretty new to the CMS arena. I just ran across Sphinx this week and decided to give it a try. I ran across Bad Behavior by accident. The concept seems very sound.
My next project this weekend is to try to integrate WP into the site. If that works out OK for me, I have at least 2 sites that I want to run on this platform. One is currently in production, and the other is still being planned.

Thanks for the work you've put into this. It is very much appreciated.

Sure Ken, welcome to the community.

Me personally, I like Bad Behavior. It really helps out a lot. Although there are people out there who don't quite sing its praises, I'll take being protected from the vast majority of idiot bots out there and maybe .001% or legitimate traffic being blocked over being left in the wind any day.
