In an effort to play catch-up with previous mods, bridges and whatever else Chris and I have done in the past, we're happy to announce a Sphinx 1.1 compatible test release of our quite popular WordPress bridge.
Please note that this is a test release, and available for Sphinx 1.1 at this time. It is a replacement for the now dead version previously released (1.0).
Version 1.1 of the WordPress bridge does not add any new features beyond what my previous bridge had, but as this again has an audience there are additions which are planned for future versions of this bridge.
Looking towards bridge version 1.2:
- New feature: Add blog post as forum topic. - New feature: Forum replies to this post (usable on the WP side) - Additional code snippets to add in some Sphinx/WP block goodness.
- 1.2 Est release: Early Summer
Possible Update Considerations On The Plate:
- Can anyone say... MU?

It appears that Luke forgot to mention something specific.
Yes, he did say that the WordPress bridge is currently only available for use with Sphinx 1.1, but... a reminder... Sphinx 1.1 is currently still in beta which means it is only available from Premium Member access.
We are hoping to get Sphinx v1.1 into a Release Candidate in the very near future, but we have not set a date for this as of yet. If you feel so inclined to help us out with a donation, you can have early access to Sphinx v1.1 and to the beta of the WordPress bridge as well.

Thanks, this should be helpful. I think I'd prefer to wait until Sphinx 1.1 has a release candidate, though. I'd rather not have to pay, and before I start using version 1.1 I'd also like to make sure any bugs that might exist in the beta version have been fixed.

Isn't it nice to have a choice though? If you had wanted to test 1.1, you could choose to be able to do so. Where before, it would have been by invitation only.

I suppose, but I pretty much never pay for something that I could get for free just by waiting a little longer. (Unless I'm in really dire need for it, which in this case I'm not.)

Yes. You're standing on it, it's right in front of your eyes, etc. Granted, I've customized it pretty good for our site. Reason being for using that in the front is that it was the easiest way to mimic our upcoming url structure for 2.0 when we release it late this year, and I wasn't really in the mood to generate a bunch of redirects. Oops, gave another 2.0 tidbit away.

I still can't see it, but I'll trust that it is there.

Hmmm... are you overlooking it maybe?
It's under downloads/premium, then first one on the list.

Oh, I see it in the downloads section. What I meant, I guess, is that you did such a good job integrating wordpress with this website that I can't see the wordpress fingerprint anywhere.

Ohhhh.... I was just heading back to ask if that was what you meant. Looks like you beat me to it. The only real functions of WP here in the forums are the news and articles blocks. Plus, I didn't fully integrate users in the front. They aren't added into the WP side of the db, and I just used SSI to grab their information for display. The end result is the same though, pretty much. I just couldn't see a need for our site to duplicate users and such. Granted, everything works as it should, just the info for non-admin users on that side comes from the sphinx/smf database. Sometime in the not-so-distant future I'd like to add additional plugin options to the bridge. Things like a post in WP is added to the forums for discussion, send all comments through the forums instead of WP, etc.

I know this is a late reply, but if you're still looking for it, it's under "Official 1.1 Mods and Add-ons" in the download area.
